The big brown bird is a Moa one of the islands of New Zealand's extinct flightless birds. Normally standing 2 to 3 meters high and averagely weighing 200 kilograms. In other words a REALLY, REALLY BIG BIRD!!!! and to think the Haast Eagle makes it look like a appetizer.

Tragically the Haast Eagle became extinct around 1400 when the Maori hunted their main food sources, large flightless birds (including Moa), causing the Haast Eagle to become extinct.
I encourage you to read more about the Haast Eagle at Wikipedia. Even though it's extinct it's still a extravagant creature.
