The elegant yet terrifiying Haast Eagle

Could you imagine running into one of these suckers? Man... now that would be a experience!
If you don't think that it's a GIANT now then check the photo below out!

The big brown bird is a Moa one of the islands of New Zealand's extinct flightless birds. Normally standing 2 to 3 meters high and averagely weighing 200 kilograms. In other words a REALLY, REALLY BIG BIRD!!!! and to think the Haast Eagle makes it look like a appetizer.

"Females were significantly larger than the males. Most estimates place the female Haast eagles in the range of 10–15 kg (22–33 lb) and males around 9–12 kg (20–26 lb).[ A comparison to living eagles of the Australasian region resulted in estimated masses in Haast eagles of 11.5 kg (25 lb) for males and 14 kg (31 lb) for females.[7] One source estimates that the largest females could have scaled more than 16.5 kg (36 lb) in mass.[8] However, even the largest extant eagles, none of which are verified to exceed 9 kg (20 lb) in a wild state, are about forty percent smaller in body size than Haast eagles." -Wikipedia.

You can find the second photograph at: https://www.google.com/search?q=Moa's+size+vs.+ostrich&rlz=1T4ADFA_enUS488US489&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjTt4bL44fLAhXLrB4KHX75DzQQsAQIHA&biw=1301&bih=561#imgrc=OGl_S7bew80zMM%3A

Tragically the Haast Eagle became extinct around 1400 when the Maori hunted their main food sources, large flightless birds (including Moa), causing the Haast Eagle to become extinct.

I encourage you to read more about the Haast Eagle at Wikipedia. Even though it's extinct it's still a extravagant creature.
